The extra virgin olive oil adds flavor and helps to keep the rolls tender.

Granulated sugar adds a little sweetness and helps to feed the yeast.

Finally, bread machine yeast is used because it's specifically formulated for use in bread machines and helps to ensure a perfect rise every time.

Basic Bread Machine Steps

Add the topping and place the dough balls in a greased baking dish, cover them, and let them rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes. to an hour, until double in size.

While the dough is rising, preheat your oven to 325°F.

Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until golden brown.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you freeze garlic rolls?

Yes, you can freeze these rolls. Once baked and cooled, wrap them tightly in plastic wrap and then in foil or a plastic freezer bag. They can be stored in the freezer for up to 3 months. To reheat, simply unwrap the rolls and bake in a 350°F oven for 10-15 minutes, or until heated through.

Are garlic rolls healthy?

While these rolls are undoubtedly delicious, they're not exactly health food. They're made with white flour, which is not as nutritious as whole wheat flour, and they contain cheese, which is high in fat. That being said, they're a tasty treat that can be enjoyed in moderation.

Can I make these cheesy garlic rolls from scratch?

If you don't have a bread machine, you can make these rolls by hand. Simply mix the ingredients together in a bowl, knead the dough by hand for about 10 minutes, let it rise, and then follow the same baking instructions as above.
