When hosting holiday gatherings it is fun to have a festive adult beverage available for your guests. This Pomegranate Cosmopolitan is a deep red color that is the perfect signature cocktail for holiday gatherings.
The pomegranate cosmopolitan is a favorite of mine any time of year, and it is especially festive during the holidays because of the deep red color from the pomegranate juice. You can make a large batch of Pomegranate Cosmopolitans easily by following the "parts" recipe below.
Here's how we make our Pomegranate Cosmos for our Just One Donna holiday parties.
Directions
Early in the day prepare your martini glasses by first rubbing the rim with the cut side of a lime and then dipping the rim in red sugar to coat.
Prepare lime slices for your garnish. This will make a very festive presentation for your cocktail.
Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice. Add the ingredients and shake vigorously to chill and dilute the drink. Strain the cocktail into your prepared martini glass. Garnish with a slice of lime and serve.
You may want to adjust the amount of lime juice to get the right level of tartness for your own taste. These proportions are just right for me, so I suggest you start there.
When hosting a holiday gathering for a group you can make your cocktail ahead of time in a pitcher using the same proportions. For example to serve four:
Mix together:
You'll want to shake each drink individually before serving to get the proper dilution from the ice.
The Pomegranate Cosmo is a festive cocktail that packs a punch. As a responsible host, you'll want to warn your guests that these are potent cocktails meant to be sipped.
Happy holidays!
Enjoy!
