Guacamole season is here. Whether you are starting the season with a Cinco de Mayo celebration or a weekend taco bar with friends you will want to add this guacamole recipe to the menu.

This recipe makes me jump up and down delicious guacamole.  I kid you not!  The big flavor will really get your party rolling.

How to Make Awesome Guacamole

Chunky guacamole it great with chips, on sandwiches, avocado toast, and eggs.

Just about every gathering at my house includes a bowl of this guacamole.  It is always a crowd-pleaser.  Leftovers never go to waste either.  Guacamole is a delicious addition to sandwiches, breakfast toast, scrambled eggs, and many dinner entrees.

This guacamole recipe uses mostly fresh ingredients.  I do like to add a can of chopped green chiles, but other than opening that can, you'll have a little chopping to do.

It will be worth it.

Many fresh ngredients add to the overall flavor of this guacamole recipe.
Guacamole Ingredients

Make sure your avocados are perfectly ripe. Let's face it.  Timing the ripening process of avocados can be a challenge.

You must buy your avocados a couple of days before you want to make your guacamole.  They need to soften or your guacamole will have the wrong consistency.

How to Keep Ripe Avocados Fresh Longer

You can keep ripened avocados fresh by following the tip in this video.

The Steps to Make Guacamole

Once your avocados are perfectly ripe you are ready to get started.
Slice the avocados in half and remove the pits.  Scoop the avocado flesh from the shell and mash.

Fresh ingredients make a colorful and delicious guacamole.
Beautiful Color, Yummy Flavor!

In a bowl, combine the mashed avocado with the lime juice to keep the avocado a lovely, bright green.

Remove the seeds from the jalapeño and chop finely.  You won't want big pieces of jalapeño in your dip.

Add the diced tomatoes, garlic, onion, jalapeño, chopped cilantro, and undrained chiles to the avocado mixture.

If you don't like cilantro, you can substitute fresh parsley, but you really need one or the other.   It's all about the flavor!  Stir to combine.

Add a couple dashes of tabasco, salt, and pepper.  Taste and adjust seasonings.  Refrigerate for a couple of hours before serving.  The heat will intensify and the flavor only gets better.

Serve with your favorite tortilla chips and watch your guacamole disappear.

Guacamole is so easy to make at home.  Watch me make it.

Coffee and Dessert-A Perfect Pairing

Coffee and dessert go hand in hand like peanut butter and jelly, night and day, or Thelma and Louise. I've teamed up with three blogging friends who love coffee and dessert as much as I do to bring you three of their favorite fall desserts to pair with three specialty coffee drinks I've made in the Ninja Coffee Bar System. I was very excited to receive this Ninja Coffee Bar System (Model CF092) to review.  I am by no means a coffee snob but I do like a good cup of coffee.  I also like a coffee maker that is easy to use and can be depended on to produce a consistent cup of coffee day in and day-out.  In the past few years, I have used a Keurig single-serving system, a French press, and a Cuisinart drip coffee maker. The Keurig is sitting on a shelf in my basement, the French press is on a high shelf in the kitchen and the Cuisinart sits in my beverage center waiting for me to return to it while I take the Ninja Coffee Bar System for a test drive.   I have...
