One Year Ago

One year ago I posted my first blog post as Just One Donna.   It was a spur of the moment thing, that first post.  I had just returned from an invigorating walk on the beach after a few days pent up in the house due to a blizzard.  I decided in a momentary flash that starting a blog would be a good thing.

321 posts later I celebrate my one year anniversary as a blogger.  When I started the blog a year ago I committed to daily posting.  Little did I know at the time that blogging is a time consuming endeavor.  I soon learned that planning, writing, cooking,  photographing, editing pictures and editing content can take the better part of a day.  As a result, in August I adjusted my publishing schedule to five days a week, with no posts on Sunday and Tuesday.

When I started this blog I had no plan.  I didn't know what I would write about.  I assumed topics would present themselves and I would pick and choose as I wished.  167 recipes later, I have learned that food is high on my list of priorities, but I don't call myself a food blogger.  In addition to my kitchen endeavors this blog has chronicled my travels, my gardening, my view on products I use, books and movies I have enjoyed and my desire to live a healthy lifestyle.

Now, 365 days later, I am looking forward to my second year of blogging.  I have decided to commit to a three days per week posting schedule as I start year 2.  I make this choice because balance in my life is precious to me, and I hope to all of you as well.  I write this blog for enjoyment, not for profit.  It is important that my my posting schedule doesn't crowd out the limited time I have for other important things in my life.   Occasionally you may find me posting more frequently, but my plan is to not post less than three times per week.  I hope this schedule will keep all of you, my loyal readers, engaged and returning to Just One Donna.

Finally, thanks to you, my loyal readers.   Blogging has introduced me to readers from across the United States and countries across the globe.  Your comments and emails have helped me to refine my content and introduced me to new friends.  I look forward to another year of blog posts with all of you.
