A Maine Vacation-Gone Fishing #2

I am a New Englander through and through.  I love New England and love to celebrate all that is good about New England.  This week I spent a couple of days in the great state of Maine.  My vacation has been in a remote wilderness area of Maine, rich with beauty and wildlife.

On one of our outings we maneuvered through a rocky minefield to reach Junior Lake, a lake full of natural beauty and plenty of fish.

One of the things you'll find about the lakes of Maine is that there are lots and lots of little islands that anyone can pull up to for a camp out or a day of swimming and picnicing.

We cooked our lunch on one of these little islands...

And enjoyed the quiet and beauty.

We caught fish....

Saw snapping turtles...

A sea plane....

Eagles...Can you find the eagle in this picture?  Where's the eagle?

and had a wonderful time.

Play the video below to see my dad catching a salmon.

Maine, it's America's vacationland.  If you'd like to know more about this Grand Lake Stream location you can visit the Downeast Lakes Land Trust website for more information about preserving this beautiful, scenic landscape and a helpful Visitor's Guide.
